Your "Spa Day" Ritual

Get ready to have a fabulous spa day at home

This Ritual is for a Full "Spa Day"

Start with a nice light, healthy, breakfast. Really enjoy it.

Get your "Spa Basket" out with all your bath goodies and put them within easy reach.

Put your "Spa" music on. Light the candles/incense or fragrant oil. Turn the lights off.

Lay out your special towels, robe and slippers. If you like you can heat them in the dryer or 30 seconds in the microwave.

Get your drinking water or herbal tea ready.

Start filling the tub with hottest water that you can tolerate and add your favorite bath products to the water. Bubble bath will relax you while an herbal bath stimulates your body. Essential oils and bath salts add various benefits depending on what you like. Rosemary and mint are invigorating, eucalyptus helps to clear sinuses & congestion. Minerals in bath salts soothe skin and achy muscles, Chamomile and lavender will help relax you.

While bath is running, wash your face with cleanser, then pluck or bleach anything you need to. Remove nail polish. Wet hair and apply a deep conditioning product, pull up your hair and secure it with a clip. Then apply a mask to your face now and soak in the tub, or you can apply a mask after you soak in the tub.

Slowly slide into your steamy aromatic tub. Take a few deep breaths and clear your mind. No thoughts of work, family, relationships nothing. Just focus on breathing and relaxing your muscles. Do this for 10 to 15 minutes or as long as you need to, to feel at ease. Sip your water or tea and think of blue skies or the beach, visualize your favorite vacation spot or anything that will be positive and relaxing. After a few minutes use your wash cloth and remove the facial mask. Next use a gentle exfoliating scrub on your feet, hands and body to soften and smooth away rough dry skin. Then lather up using your favorite soap or body wash with a wash cloth using circular motions. This helps circulation and gives the skin a nice healthy glow.

After your wonderfully relaxing soak, hop into a warm shower to rinse off and wash hair with you favorite shampoo & conditioner. After rinsing if you can tolerate it, turn the hot water down and let cooler water quickly run over your whole body and hair just for a few seconds. This will help tighten up skin pores and smooth out hair follicles for shinier hair. Then pat your skin dry with a warm towel, spritz on your favorite scent, and slide into a snugly robe and slippers.

Next, apply a moisturizer to your entire body while your skin is still slightly damp, this seals in moisturizing benefits and helps skin stay soft longer. Take you time in applying it, go slowly and enjoy your spa ritual. Massage lotion into feet and hands feel the tension melt away. Apply a facial moisturizer that is suited to your skin type. Dab it on your forehead, cheeks chin and neck. Then with small circular motions, gently massage it into your skin starting from your neck, working your way up to your cheeks and forehead, always in an upward motion. When you get to your temples take time to massage them.

Slip into some comfy clothes. Now you are ready for a nice light lunch with plenty of vegges and fruit prepared any way you please. Once again savor your food, eat slowly and really taste it.

After lunch, you can give yourself a manicure, take an nice walk or sit, listen to music or relax, and do nothing. It is really up to you, the key is to unwind in the way that works for you. Enjoy!
